Lorraine T. Meloy, 96, of Earlville, IL passed away Friday, March 14, 2014 in Mendota Community Hospital. She was born April 14, 1917 in Earlville the daughter of Roy and Mildred (Follett) Imel. She married Gilbert Meloy in Earlville. She was lifelong member of the Earlville United Methodist Church. Lorraine enjoyed baking and especially making cakes. She worked at the USDA office in Ottawa for several years, and was cook at the Earlville School for many years. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.

She is survived by two sons, Gilbert (Cindy) Meloy of Lebanon, OH and Stanley (Patty) Meloy of Earlville; five grandchildren, Kent (Jo), Kristy (Wayne) Schlosser, Tyler (Barb), Mandy (Tom) Hawk, and Cara (Kevin) Cummings; five great grandchildren, Delaney, Kennedy, Jess, Mason and Haley; one sister-in-law, Jane Imel of Iowa, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gilbert, four brothers and sisters, Levon Ewald, Hazel Ewald, Harry Imel and Clifford Imel.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Earlville United Methodist Church with Pastor Linda Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Precinct Cemetery rural Earlville. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 18th in the Church until time of service at 11:00. Memorials may be directed to the Earlville Historical Society. Arrangements were entrusted to Hanley-Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Earlville.
