Lorene “Reenie C.(Hill) Barnes, 101, of Plano, IL passed away Friday, October 8, 2021 Hillside Healthcare Center in Yorkville, IL. She was born January 18, 1920 in Mountain View, Missouri the daughter of John and Clara (Hosp) Hill. She came to Plano in 1935 where she met Donald “Pat” Barnes and they were married July 1938. To this union was born two sons, Larry Barnes and Bill Barnes. Lorene retired from Western Electric in 1977. She was a lifelong member of Plano American Legion Women’s Auxiliary. She spent her winters in Mission, TX for 20 years.
She leaves one son Larry (Janna) Barnes, one daughter-in-law, Maureen, one grandson, Jeff (Laura) Barnes, and one granddaughter, Mindy (David) Bigley, six great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald, one son Bill, two grandsons, Michael and Steven Barnes, four brothers, Harley, Lewis, Ernest and Floyd “Dutch” Hill, and three, sisters, Odelia “Dee” Giffin, Mary “Sally” Presnell, and Ruth “Tootie” Hester, and one daughter-in-law Roberta.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Plano, IL, with Pastor Randy Nicholas officiating. Entombment will follow in Little Rock Township Mausoleum Plano, IL. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. on October 16, 2021 until the time of services in the funeral home.
