Lloyd O. Larson

Lloyd O. Larson, 89, of rural Earlville, IL passed away Saturday, October 3, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 23, 1925 in Ottawa, IL the son of Emil and Sadie Titzel Larson. He married Shirley McCutchen on August 22, 1948 in Harding Methodist Church. They had 67 years of marriage. He farmed in Freedom Township his entire life. He was a member of the Harding Methodist Church, the Sandwich Early Day Engine Club, the Mendota Moose Lodge, the Mendota Elks Lodge, LaSalle County Farm Bureau and the Marseilles Masonic Lodge, where he was a 50 year member. Lloyd was a Freedom Township road commissioner for many years. He enjoyed showing his antique engines and wrenches at the Sandwich Fair for more than 50 years and has attended the fair since childhood.. He is survived by his wife Shirley, one daughter, Donna Jon Davis of Walnut, IL, three sons, Keith Marian Larson of Sandwich, IL, Kenneth Debbie Larson of Collinsville, TX and Craig special friend Julie Hamel Larson of Earlville, IL; one daughter-in-law Pat Larson of Los Angeles, CA; eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his twin brother Dale, one son Curtis Lee Larson, and one sister-in law, Dorothy Larson. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Hanley-Turner-Eighner Funeral Home 407 S. Ottawa St. Earlville, IL with Pastor Mark Abbott officiating. Burial will follow in Harding Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 6, 2015 in the funeral home until the time of services at noon. Pallbearers will be Keith, Kenneth and Craig Larson, Jon Davis, Brad Foreman, Ben and Andy Larson. Honorary pallbearers will be Marland Rachel, Matt Haselhorst, Chris Wright, Kyle Ream and Roland Wilson.
