Linda M. Steele

Linda M. Steele, 75, of Ottawa passed away Monday, March 5, 2018 at Hillside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Yorkville. She was born August 13, 1942 in Morris, IL, the daughter of Mervin and Katherine (Wagner) Nelson. She married Charles “Buck” Steele in 1968 in Morris, IL. Linda was a member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed the flowers in her garden, drawing, coloring, and her pet cat, Gidgit. Linda especially loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Kevin Nelson of Millington, IL, Barry (LeAnne) Nelson of Old Hickory, TN, Brian (Charlotte) Steele of Yorkville, IL, Charissa (Mike) Mailhot of Neshkoro, WI, and Sonja Steele of Millington, IL; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mervin and Katherine, and her husband, Buck

A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at a later date. Linda generously donated her body to science for the education of future doctors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association, Paws Chicago, or the Humane Society.
