Linda L. (Hawkins) Brooks

Linda L. (Hawkins) Brooks, 78, of Somonauk, IL passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026 at her home peacefully with her two daughters. She was born May 7, 1948 in Sandwich, IL the daughter of George and Aletta (Bergeson) Hawkins. She was a member of the Cedardell Girls Golf Club where lifelong friendships were made. Linda loved travelling, watching tv and chocolate. She was known to stop in unexpectedly to visit anyone and everyone.

Linda retired as a quality control supervisor at Wayne Circuits in Yorkville after decades of service. She also owned and operated her tax service business known as LB Travel Tax, in which she was known for her passionate service to her customers.

She is survived by two daughters, Sarah (Dan) Limon and Amanda (Joseph) Mendoza; five grandchildren, Myles Mendoza, Riley (Colton Otto) Limon, Chloe Mendoza, Dylan (Taylor) Limon, and Hannah Limon; two brothers, John Hawkins and Paul (Becky) Hawkins; special niece Joannie (Jim) Martin and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Annette Habbe (Ronald “Buddy”) and brother, George Hawkins.

“Que Sera Sera” Whatever will be, was her life motto and favorite saying.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 from 4:00 pm-7:00 pm with a service at 7:00 pm at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk.
