Lee J. Erickson, 64, of Sandwich, Illinois passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017 in Willow Crest Nursing Pavilion. He was born November 25, 1952 in Aurora, IL, the son of Tilfred and Verna Peterson Erickson. He married Sandra Verdeyen on December 27, 1980 in Newark, IL. He was a car salesman at Dempsey Dodge in Plano, IL. He was a Cub’s fan and enjoyed the outdoors. He was dairy farmer for 21 years in the Newark area. Lee loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Sandra of Sandwich, two daughters, Shannon Joseph Cole of Sandwich, IL and Nicole Shawn Halmagyi of San Diego, CA; seven grandchildren, Ayden, Hailey, Brody, Sophie, Zoey, Harper and Savannah; one sister Gerry Bob Black of Morris, IL and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Shawn Erickson.
According to Lee’s wishes he will be cremated with a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to Burkhart-Eighner Funeral Home 606 E. Arnold Rd. Sandwich, IL.
