Lawrence J. “Larry” Frieders, 71, of Newark, IL passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL. He was born July 5, 1950 in Aurora, IL. the son of Edwin and Mary (Brummel) Frieders. He married Jayne Tallent on November 3, 1973 in St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Sandwich, IL. Larry was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Sandwich, American Legion and was also a Moose Member. He was a Veteran serving in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. In his younger years he raced motorcycles and go carts. He enjoyed spending time at his cabin in Minnesota where he would go boating, trail riding, and where he could truly unwind with his family. Larry loved classic cars, especially his 1962 Chevrolet Corvette, restoring cars and farming. Larry co-owned and operated AG Tech for over 40 years with his brother Gene as well as G&L Washes in Sandwich. Most of all Larry enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren but his greatest love was spending time with his soulmate Jayne.
Larry is survived by his wife, Jayne; two daughters, Jill (Davey) Ballas, Ashley (Mike) Gerencir ; one son, Craig (Laura) Frieders all of Sandwich, IL; six grandchildren, Cody, Josh, Ava, Skyler, Jack and Riley; one sister, Mary Lou (Lane) Sheldon of Plano, IL.; six brothers, Bob (Jessie) Frieders of Yorkville, IL., Chuck (Lori) Frieders of Marsailles, IL., Bernie (Kim) Frieders of Sandwich, IL., Joe Frieders of Sheridan, IL., Gene (Julie) Frieders of Sandwich, IL., Tom Frieders of Sandwich, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one infant brother Dickie Frieders, and one niece Ashton Frieders.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Sandwich, IL. with Father Bernard Sehr officiating. Burial will follow at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Somonauk, IL. Everyone is welcome to join the family for a celebration of life luncheon following graveside services at AG Tech in Sandwich.
