Lavern H. "Vern" Hake, 75, of Earlville, Illinois passed away Friday, May 13, 2011 at his home in Earlville, surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 14, 1935 in Jewell County Kansas, the son of Benedict and Ethel Adams Hake. He married Joy M. McMurray on February 11, 1954 in Esbon, KS. Vern was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a welder for the pipeline for over fifty-five years. He was a member of the Pipeline Local #798 Union of Tulsa, OK.
He is survived by his wife Joy of Earlville, IL; two daughters, Teresa (Terry) Brown of Brazoria, TX, and Deborah Hake of Paris, TN; two sons, David (Connie) Hake and Ron Hake both of Earlville, IL; twelve grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren; one brother, Jack (Dorothy) Hake of Big Rock, IL; four sisters, Virginia (Val) Kureac of Red Cloud, NE, Beverly (Paul) VanWey of Hastings, NE, Shirley (Lynn) Deitzs of Beloit, KS and Connie (Frank) Delka of Beloit, KS; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Michael, two brothers, Stanley and Clifford, and one niece, Marcia.
