Laura Melissa (Bachman) Grant, 86, of Sandwich passed away Sunday, September 22, 2013 at Willow Crest Nursing Pavilion in Sandwich. She was born October 28, 1926 in Jefferson City, MO the daughter of David and Anna (Stoneking) Bachman. She married William F. Grant on February 18, 1959 in DeKalb, IL.
She is survived by one daughter, Loretta (Jeffrey) Glover of Leland, IL; one son, Ronald (Kimberly) Bachman of Sandwich, IL; nine grandchildren, Carrie Bachman, of Sandwich, IL, Michelle (A.J.) Elder of Leland, IL, Jacob Glover of DeKalb, IL, Charli Crone of Peoria, IL, Amanda (Ryan) Domeracki of Lakemoor, IL, Brody Ikemire of Somonauk, IL, Alicia Glover of Leland, IL, Allison Glover of Leland, IL and Mackenzie Ikemire of Somonauk, IL; two great grandchildren, Emma and Chase Elder.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, William Grant, Jr., one daughter, Patricia (Grant) Ikemire, four sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL. Burial will follow at Northville Cemetery in Sheridan, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the charity of one’s choice.
