Larry Eugene Taylor of Sugar Grove, IL passed away Thursday, April 2, 2020, from complications of COVID-19. He was born November 20, 1939 in Shawnee, OK, the son of Ivy and Henry Taylor. Larry chose Higher Education as his profession; he completed a BA in English and Art from Oklahoma Baptist University, 1961. A National Defense Scholarship (1961) made his Ph.D. possible in 1969. Larry was an artist, a scholar, publishing a well-received work on John Updike. Some of Larry’s watercolors are on permanent exhibit at the University of Oklahoma.
He survived by his loving wife Hanni, his children, Jeff (Tina) of Mill Valley, CA, and Christine (Michael) McLean of Sugar Grove, IL, his beloved grandchildren, one sister, Wynona of Mustang, OK, his nephews, Michael and Mark, and his dear friend Jim.
He was preceded by his parents and siblings, Geraldine, Aline, Jack, Jim, and Bill.
