Larry “Norski” Larson, 77, of Plano passed away Thursday, August 20, 2020 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL, surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 11, 1942 in Owatonna, MN, the son of Chester Edward and Mildred Antilia (Anderson) Larson. He married Ruth M. Morel on January 8, 1983 in Yorkville, IL. Larry was a proud member of the US Army, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the Plano American Legion and a former member of the Sandwich Moose. Larry retired from Caterpillar after many years of service. He enjoyed golf, bowling, dancing with Ruth, and tinkering in his garage, he could fix anything. Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth of Plano, IL; his daughter, Kim Bentley of Aurora, IL; three stepchildren, Wendy (Rob) Bedal of Millington, IL, Laurie (Kevin) Kubisak of Plano, IL, and Shane Harris of Plano, IL; six grandchildren, Stephanie (Kevin Staneart) Jones of Bolingbrook, IL, Britany (Josh) Page of CO, Danielle Jones of Sugar Grove, IL, Aaron Kubisak of Plano, IL, Scott Larson of Oswego, IL, and Allen Larson of Oswego, IL; his great grandson, Grayson; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Larry “Butch” Larson, Jr., his stepson, Kevin Rauch, and his five siblings.
A celebration of Norski’s life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Plano, IL, with Pastor Chris Schoon officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Plano. Burial will be at a later date at Little Rock Township Cemetery in Plano.
