Kimberly A. (Thompson) Rogers, 65, of Plano, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at home. She was born June 22, 1956 in El Paso, TX, the daughter of Stanley and Ruth (Tellefson) Thompson.
Kim was a graduate of Sandwich High School. She worked for 40+ years at the Open Door, Sandwich.
She loved crocheting, ceramics, needlepoint, the Chicago Cubs, attending Kane County Cougar games, watching the races at Grundy County Speedway, vacationing in Wisconsin and helping with their exhibit of antique engines at the Sandwich Fair. Her nephews and nieces held a special place in her heart; she enjoyed attending their numerous events.
Kim is survived by her husband of 31 years, Wm. (Skip) Rogers; a brother David (Peggy) Thompson of Beresford, SD; sister-in-laws, Paula Bender of Plano and Roxana (David) Pekoc of Millington; nephews, Jared Thompson of Beresford, SD, David Pekoc of Three Lakes, WI; nieces, Marcy (Todd) Spomer of Sioux Falls, SD, Heather Lee and Dusty (Aaron) Brown of Sandwich, Spring (Kieron) Barrett of Elgin, Wendi (Matt) Adams of Wausau, WI, Autumn (Craig) Starck of Sheridan. And great-nephews and nieces, Haleigh, Colton, Stephanie, Darryn, Gabrielle, Charlotte, Andrew, Gideon, Cyrus, Asher, Owen, Tucker, Craig Jr (CJ); aunts and uncles, Janeen Hoadley, Laurie Madigan, Don Telefson and Quentin Telefson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and grandparents, Ray and Verna Thompson and Willis and Arlene Tellefson.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at the First Baptist Church, 116 N Hale St, Plano, IL with Rev. Terry Jensen officiating. Per CDC guidelines please be aware that masks may be required. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Burial will be held at a later date.
