Kenneth Jacob Huff, 88, of Waterman, IL passed away Sunday, September 18, 2011 at Jabez Elder Care in Somonauk, IL. He was born May 29, 1923 in DeKalb, IL the son of Orval and Mae (Jacob) Huff. He married Leota Mae Cunz on November 13, 1948 in Somonauk, IL. They have lived and farmed in rural Waterman on the Huff family farm that has been in the family since 1874. He was a member of the Waterman Presbyterian Church, where he served on the session. He was Superintendent of Horseshoes at the Sandwich Fair, an Insurance adjuster for 30 years with Country Companies, an original member of the Waterman Boosters Club. Ken was an avid golfer, trap-shooter and horse-shoe pitcher.
He was survived by his wife, Leota; daughter, Rita Wilson; son, Kent (Marie) Huff, son-in-law, Paul Potter; grandchildren, Paul Potter(fiancé Kate Madison), Aaron (April) Potter, Genelle (Tim) Schindlbeck, Christopher (Jennifer) Wilson, Mark (Michelle) Huff, Alison Huff, Carrie Huff; great grandchildren, Iris Madison, Alyssa and Addison Potter, Troy, Daniel and Logan Schindlbeck, Abbie Farrar, Ethan and Nicholas Wilson and Jacob Huff; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Dwayne Huff; one daughter, Regina Potter.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL with Rev. James Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Johnson Grove Cemetery in rural Waterman. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Jabez Elder Care, Shabbona United Church of Christ, Waterman Presbyterian Church or the Charity of one’s choice
