Kendra C. Kuehlem, 27, of Chicago, IL passed away, Friday, February 4, 2022 in Brookfield, IL as the result of a train accident. She was born December 29, 1994 in Naperville, IL the daughter of Amee Kuehlem. She was raised in Plano, IL and was a graduate of Plano High School Class of 2013. Kendra was a graduate of University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, IL, with a degree in Urban and Regional Planning. She worked for the Village of Brookfield, IL as a Village Planner. Before working in Brookfield she worked for the Village of Plainfield, IL, and Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP). She was an avid photographer and owned her own business, Kendra Christine Photography LLC. She loved traveling, was a mental health advocate, and fostered cats. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her mother Amee Kuehlem of Montgomery, IL; grandparents, Herb and Carol Kuter of Plano, IL; three uncles, Chris (Shelly) Kuehlem of Sandwich, IL, Herb, Jr. (Carol) Kuter of Garland, TX, and Tony (Whitney) Kuter of Bemidji, MN; two aunts, Amy Lynn (Dan) Knoebel of Sandwich, IL, and Emily (Will) Peto of Yorkville, IL, and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John (Terry-Jo) Kuehlem, and one aunt, Kristy Smith.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Plano, IL. Followed by a Memorial Service at 4:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will follow the service at Yorkville American Legion at 9054 US Route 34 Yorkville, IL 60560. Private burial will be at a later date.
