Katie Mae Heath Wright, 88, of Sandwich, IL passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Willow Crest Nursing Pavilion in Sandwich. She was born May 2, 1927 in Bluford, IL, the daughter of Henry Joel and Bernice Rosetta (Smith) Bowling. She married Raymond A. Heath on December 24, 1943 and later married Theodore Wright on June 3, 1973 in St. Charles, IL. Katie was a member of the Federated Church in Sandwich. She was formerly employed as a medical secretary at Community Hospital in Geneva. Katie retired from JC Penney in Michigan City, IN in 1987 then moved to Sandwich, IL and worked at Wal-Mart in Plano until 1999.
She is survived by three sons, Raymond Heath of Greeley, CO, Norman (Carmen) Heath of Batavia, IL and Kevin (Cathy) Heath of Prescott, AZ; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; two sisters, Greta Hensick and Ann Williams both of St. Louis, MO; two brothers, James (Mary) Bowling of Hillsboro, MO and Rev. Ray (Tonya) Bowling of Jayess, MS; one sister-in-law, Linda Bowling of Pilot Knob, MO; and her dear friend, Bill Hoving of Sandwich, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands and two brothers, Edward and Darrell Bowling.
Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m., Friday, May 22, 2015 at Burkhart-Eighner Funeral Home in Sandwich with Reverend Ray Bowling officiating. Burial will be at St. Charles Cemetery in St. Charles, IL. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m., on Friday, May 22, 2015 in the funeral home until the service at 6:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Federated Church or Fox Valley Older Adults.
