Kathryn Ann Passow, 90, of Leland passed away Friday, October 30, 2026, at Valley West Hospital in Sandwich. She was born September 21, 1936, in Baldwin, Wisconsin, the daughter of Arthur and Irene (Hartwig) Lund. She married Joel Passow on March 29, 1958, at The Little Brown Church in Nashville, Iowa. She was a dedicated member of the Leland United Methodist Church.
Kathy was an avid member of the American Legion Post 570, and she fostered a love for volunteering at her church. Kathy spent many years in the Leland and Earlville area as a hairdresser for elderly people. She even spent some years doing hair for Turner Funeral Home in Leland and Earlville. Kathy would take great pride in caring for people in her community. She would take food to people that couldn’t cook for themselves. Kathy would treasure her morning coffee time with her dear friends. You would often see Kathy cruising around Leland in her golf cart aptly named “The Popemobile”. She valued the company of her pride and joy, Porsche, a West Highland Terrier.
Kathryn is survived in death by her loving husband, Joel, her children Rick Passow of Leland and Brian (Yvette) Passow of Leland. She is also survived by her grandchild Courtney Passow of Pennsylvania, a sister-in-law, Alice Lund of Wilson, Wisconsin, and her best friend of 60 years Arden Dewey of Leland. And finally, she is survived by her loving dog, Porsche and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She is reunited in death by her loving parents, Arthur and Irene and her son Scott. As well as her five siblings Russell, Margie, Jim, Vernon, and Clifford.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12 noon on Friday, November 6, 2026, at Leland United Methodist Church followed by a memorial service with pastor Abraham Moller officiating.
