Kathleen Effie Termini, 98, of Sandwich, IL passed away on Friday July 3, 2020 at her home in Sandwich, IL, surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 4, 1921 in Liverpool, England, the daughter of William and Alice McFruin. She married James “Vincent” Termini on October 28, 1944 in Liverpool, England. She was a member of Union Congregational Church in Somonauk, IL. Kathleen was active in The Sunshine Band, Bible Class, Lake Holiday Garden Club and she was a former Choir member. She was a people person who enjoyed spending time with family and friends, as well as talking to her numerous friends for many hours on the phone. She enjoyed eating out at restaurants and in more recent years visiting and eating with her friends at The Fox Valley Older Adults Center. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Vince (Mona) Termini of Somonauk, IL; four grandchildren, Susan (Darren Piccirillo) Kipper of Sandwich, IL, Sharon (Mike) Erickson of Montgomery, IL, Kathleen (Tom) Hinterlong of Leland, IL, and Vincent (Sara) Termini of Milton, WI; ten great grandchildren, Nicholas, Brandon (Heather), Lauren (Brad), Jacob (Jessica), Ryan, Jordan (Jeffrey), Brock, Samantha (Chaz), Eli, and Anthony; four great great grandchildren, Emmitt, Lacey, Avila, Jaxon, and two on the way, Atticus and Josephine; one brother, Norman (Helen) McFruin of England; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vincent; and one sister and brother-in-law Jean (Eddie) Neary.
Private Services will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL, with Reverend Theodore Engelsdorfer officiating. Burial will follow at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in rural Somonauk. In lieu of flowers please donate to your local Animal Shelter, ASPCA or Tails Humane Society in Dekalb, IL.
