Karen Lynn Mcnutt

Karen Lynn McNutt, 54, of Somonauk, IL passed away Thursday, August 2, 2012 at her residence in Somonauk surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 15, 1957 in Peru, IL the daughter of Russell and Jean (Thompson) Krenz. She married Bryan J. McNutt on June 14, 1975 in Sandwich, IL. She was a member of the Illinois Valley Horseman’s Association. Karen was employed at MetLife Insurance for 35 years until her passing. She enjoyed horseback riding, swimming, traveling to Las Vegas, New Mexico to her second home where she shopped, hiked and enjoyed life. Her greatest love was for her family especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Bryan McNutt of Somonauk; her mother, Jean, of Houston, TX; two daughters, Amie (Jamie) Gillies of DeKalb and Jennifer (Justin) Jefferis of DeKalb; four grandchildren, Hailey, Blake, Matthew, Brody and one on the way; three sisters, Kelly (Ed) Doe of Houston, TX, Kathy Card of Houston, TX and Melissa Sawl of St. Augustine, FL; one brother, Chris Krenz of Houston, TX.

She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Billy Krenz.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk with Pastor Dennis Heaney officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Sandwich. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 6, 2012 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk. Memorials may be directed to the charity of one’s choice.
