Karen L. Boyd

Karen L. Boyd, 77, of Somonauk, IL passed away Sunday, September 30, 2018 in her home. She was born June 25, 1941 in Kankakee, IL the daughter of Lawrence Charles and Cornelia Lenora (Hemphill) Hansen. She married David Bruce Boyd. She was a member at Ultimate Health and Fitness, where she exercised three times a week. Karen enjoyed walking in the Somonauk park, watching birds, gardening, reading, and having lunch at Portillo’s. Most of all she cherished time spent with her family.
She is survived by her children, Allison (Michael) Harris of Millington, IL and Christopher Boyd of Somonauk, IL; granddaughters, Taylor and Lauren Boyd; and her sister Kay (Stephen) Sutherlin of Indianapolis, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, David, and her daughter-in-law, Stacy Boyd.

Private Graveside Service will be held in Karen’s honor at Memorial Gardens in Kankakee, IL. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Parkinson’s Research.
