Judy (Meade) Hatfield was born on September 4, 1941 in Sandwich, IL. to Carroll and Mavis Meade. She passed away Thursday, January 16, 2025 and was held in God’s arms at Prairie Crossing Living and Rehabilitation Center in Shabbona, IL. Judy attended Sandwich High School. She started her career at Sandwich State Bank as a bookkeeper and then worked for Stephens Adamson MFG. in Aurora where she met her husband Roger Hatfield of Big Rock, IL. They married on August 28, 1965, in Sandwich, IL at the Federated Church. Judy was a life long White Sox fan and followed her sons in all the sports HBR (Royals) and was active in the HBR Sports Boosters. She was also active in the women’s groups in the Big Rock English Congregational UCC Church. She worked as a bookkeeper for Hinckley Grain, Bluegrass Sod Farm Builders Concrete, and Suburban Lawn.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Roger Hatfield; Judy and Roger were honored with two sons, Eric Hatfield of Waterman, IL and Lance (Angel) Hatfield of Somonauk, IL; one daughter-in-law, one brother, James (Nikki) Meade of Morris, IL, one sister, Caryl (Jim) Lindsy of Goreville, IL, her granddaughters, Alayna (Matt) Hatfield of West Palm Beach, FL and Chelsea Hatfield of Waterman, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Thomas Meade.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2025 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL. Memorial Services will be held at Big Rock English Congregational UCC Church in Big Rock, IL on Saturday, January 24, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor John Omerod officiating. Memorials may be directed to the Big Rock English Congregational United Church of Christ, 301 Rhodes Ave, Big Rock, IL 60511.
