Joy M. Hake, 84, of Earlville, IL passed away Saturday, Nov. 16, at her daughter’s home in Texas, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Sept. 23, 1935, in Jewell County, Kansas, the daughter of Floyd and Artie McMurray. She married Lavern H. "Vern" Hake on Feb. 11, 1954, in Esbon, Kansas.
Joy worked at Marathon Electric and CTS Knights. She enjoyed her luncheons with her friends, working in her yard, visiting daily on the phone with friends and family. She looked forward to the outings with our dear friend Karen and those every, Sunday breakfasts with son David.
She is survived by her daughter, Teresa (Terry) Brown of Brazoria, TX; sons, David (Connie) Hake of Eddyville, KY and Ron (Dana) Hake of Golconda, IL; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Vern; a son Michael; a daughter Deborah; brothers Glen and Gerald McMurray and niece Janie McMurray.
A Celebration of her life will be at 11am, Tuesday, Nov. 26, at Hanley-Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Earlville, with Pastor Del Keilman officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at funeral home on Tuesday. Burial to following the services in Precinct Cemetery; rural Earlville.
