Josephine "Ma" Luman

Josephine “Ma” Luman, 99, of Plano, Illinois passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at home. She was born December 31, 1917 in Joliet, IL the daughter of Louis and Antonia Stanfel Sameck her mother died when she was young and her step-mother Rose Rom helped raise her. She married Robert F. Luman Sr. on January 18, 1936 in Joliet, IL. She was a co-owner, secretary and treasurer for Lumanair Inc. She was a crossing guard in the 1960’s at St. Ray’s School in Joliet. She loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by two sons, Bob Dottie Luman of Elburn, IL and Mike Sally Luman of Plano, IL; four grandchildren, Bob, John, Michael Emily and Scott Jie; six great grandchildren, Le erin, Ali, John Ross, Daniel, Jacob and Lucy Jo; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert, one son, George R. Luman, two grandchildren, Michael D. Luman and George R. Luman; two sisters, Molly and Barny, two brothers, Lou and Ray.
Memorial Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Plano, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for a fund being established for her great grandchildren.
