Josephine A. Koch, 91, of Oswego, IL passed away December 26, 2011 at her home. She was born June 2, 1920 in Phoenix, IL, the daughter of Stefan and Matilda (Boik) Zebrowski. She married William H.M. Koch on June 29, 1946 in Chicago, IL. Except for several years working in the Pentagon during WWII she lived her entire life in the Chicagoland area. In 1975, she fulfilled a dream and entered Mallinckrodt College, obtaining her Associate Degree at the age of 60. She was a member of numerous volunteer organizations throughout her life. Josephine worked for Kemper Insurance for many years and Primus Corporation for many years, retiring in 2004. She then moved in with her daughter and son-in-law in Oswego and enjoyed the rest of her life with her family around her. She was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Oswego.
Josephine is survived by one daughter, Christine (Richard) Faltz of Oswego, IL; one son, William (Paula) Koch of Germantown, Maryland; nine grandchildren, William (Jen) Koch, Benjamin (Ryann) Koch, Amanda (Michael) Stanley, Brian (Tina) Faltz, Michael (Leslie) Faltz, Dawn Faltz, Rebecca Faltz, Kathryn (Andrew) Clements and Jeffrey Faltz and eleven great grandchildren, Jacob, Jessica and James, Ashlee, Iain and Brigid, Renee, Braydon, and Julianna, Caleigh, Jordon; one sister, Dorothy (Raymond) Marchetta; two brothers, George (Bettie) Zebrowski and Carl (Louette) Ames; one brother-in-law, Lorenz (Marian) Koch and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband in 2006, her parents, one sister, Victoria Jennings and one brother, Thomas Zaber and one in infancy; and three cherished life long friends, Dottie, Addie and Marge.
Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 30, 2011 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 551 Boulder Hill Pass, Oswego, IL with Fr. Daniel F. Stempora officiating. There will be no visitation. Please omit flowers. Memorials may be directed to the family for the Sisters of Christian Charity.
