Josephine C. Kapela, 85, of Somonauk, Illinois passed away Sunday, March 11, 2007 at Tillers Health Care in Oswego, IL. She was born November 11, 1921 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Joseph and Rose (Jalowiec) Pazdro. She married Joseph P. Kapela on May 18, 1946 in Chicago, IL. She was a member of Altar and Rosary Society in Chicago.
She is survived by one son, Lane (Donna) Kapela of Sandwich, IL; two sisters, Jean (Matt Szalwa) Iwaniczko of Chicago, IL and Mary Lubinski of Sioux Falls, SD; one brother, Ted Pazdro of Arlington Heights, IL; several nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; one brother, Matt Pazdro; one sister, Vicky Smycz.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2007 at St. John of Baptist Catholic Church in Somonauk, IL with Rev. Godwin Asuquo officiating. Entombment will be in Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at Burkhart-Eighner Funeral Home in Sandwich, with a wake service being recited. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Open Door Rehabilitation Center in Sandwich.
