Josephine Eakle of Yorkville, IL passed away on Monday, April 17, 2017 at the age of 96. She was born March 28, 1921 to Mary and Leslie Lanter. Jo was united in marriage to James Eakle on November 30, 1940. They were happily married for 58 years.
Jo was an elementary teacher in the area for many years and was very dedicated to her profession. She enjoyed quilting, playing bridge, raising monarch butterflies, gardening, and cooking favorite dishes for her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda David Wendling and her grandchildren, James Michelle Wendling and Amy Jon Clever. Her three great grandchildren are Lily, Shae, and Shelly.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James.
