Joseph L. Durbin, 73, of Plano, IL passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Valley West Community Hospital in Sandwich, IL. He was born February 15, 1939 in Mechanicsburg, IL the son of Lowell and Anna (Stark) Durbin. He married Carole A. Smith on June 12, 1962 in Somonauk, IL. Joseph was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Plano and the Moose. He was a veteran of the US Army. Joseph retired from Caterpillar after 30 years of service and just last year he retired from the Plano School District where he enjoyed the children.
He is survived by his wife, Carole; one daughter, Denise (Dean) Krause of Plano, IL; one son, Craig Durbin of Plano, IL; two grandchildren, Tyler and Mitchell ( his Fiancée Hannah Buss) Krause; three sisters, Evelyn Cook of Sheridan, IL, Mary Williams of Cortland, IL and Dorothy (Ed) Cox of Casper Wyoming and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Prayer services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 1, 2013 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Plano, IL with Father Andy Davy, M.I.C. officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service on Friday, February 1, 2013 at the funeral home.
