Jon W. Kannmacher

Jon W. Kannmacher, 73 of Sandwich passed away Tuesday December 30, 2014 at his residence in Sandwich. He was born January 24, 1941 in Gary, IN, the son of Carroll and Edith (Hendrix) Kannmacher. He married Crystal Nicholson on March 12, 1960 in Martinsville, IL. Jon was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church for many years and a member of the Martinsville Masonic Lodge. He retired from Caterpillar after 39 years of service. Jon was involved with the Sandwich J.C.’s, he was a Little League Baseball coach and a basketball coach. His greatest love was his family.

He is survived by his wife, Crystal of Sandwich, IL; two daughters, Lisa (Richard) Luxton of Somonauk, IL and Jamie Kannmacher of Sandwich, IL; two sons, Jon (Charlotte) Kannmacher of Earlville, IL and Tracey (Tracy) Kannmacher of Lago Vista, TX; eleven grandchildren, Jason, Jamison (Katie) and Jennifer Schnabel, Jordan Luxton, David Gosnell, Kristin and Jonathan Hatland, Cole, Kendall, Josey and Danny Kannmacher; two great grandchildren, Gavin and Dawson Hinckley; one sister, Marolyn (Jack) Fasig of Sydney, MT.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Phyllis Nadine Zordani, one brother Lowell Kannmacher.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Pastor Joe McDonald officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Sandwich, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2015 at Burkhart-Eighner Funeral Home in Sandwich with Masonic Rites conducted at 6:30 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Emmanuel Baptist Church.
