John E. Wykes, 50, of Rockford, IL, formerly of Plano, passed away Thursday July 21, 2022 at Mosaic Group Home in Loves Park, IL. He was born February 12, 1972 in Aurora, IL, the son of John Albert and Christine (Hansen) Wykes. John was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. He enjoyed spending time with his friends at Mosaic. He loved visiting with his family, especially his nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his parents, John and Chris Wykes of Plano, IL; two brothers, Eric Clayton “Clay” (Amy) Wykes of Coral, MI and Benjamin “Ben” (Emily) Wykes of Plano, IL; one niece, Melaina (Paul) Hoving Wykes; four nephews, Cody Mandie, Tyler, Noah, and Jack Wykes; one great nephew, Solomon; one great-niece Charlie.
He was preceded in death by his twin brother Joshua, his paternal grandparents, Albert and Phyllis Wykes and his maternal grandparents, Robert and Bonnie Hansen.
Visitation will be held from 1 pm to 4 pm on Sunday July 24, 2022 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Plano, IL. Private burial will be held at a later date at Little Rock Township Cemetery, Plano, IL.
