John F. Scholfield, a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend will be missed by all who knew him and loved him. John passed away in the presence of his family on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at the age of 74. Left behind to cherish his memories is his beloved wife of 52 years: Jo Ann; daughters, Paula Scholfield (Dan Smith) and Holly Fabbri (John); grandchildren: Nick and Colin Smith and Allison and Anna Fabbri; his mother: Mary Scholfield; and many family and friends.
John was a undergraduate of Illinois State University and held advanced degrees from NIU and U of I. He served in the field of Education for 47 years, 17 as Superintendent of Leland Schools. He enjoyed watching sports and going on family vacations, liked a good party and above all, loved his family and friends.
Visitation Friday, September 17, 4:00 - 8:00 pm at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville. Memorial Services at Friedrich-Jones Saturday, September 18 at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials to: John F. Scholfield Scholarship Fund, c/o Leland Schools, 370 N. Main, Leland, IL 60531.
