Jerry David Schulz, 72, of Pontiac, IL, formerly of Leland, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, IL. He was born March 27, 1941 in Pontiac, IL the son of William Herman and Marie Theresa (Schoop) Schulz. He married Jeanne Hobart on September 3, 1960 in Pontiac. He was a member of the Sandwich Moose Lodge, Sandwich VFW and Eagles Club of Eustis, FL. Jerry enjoyed mowing, NASCAR racing, and the company of good friends but especially his family.
He is survived by his Special friend, Janet Hurt of Pontiac and her family; two daughters, Vonnie (Rick) Hayden of Locust Grove, GA and Becki (Jim) Castelli of Sheridan, IL; eight grandchildren, Ashlie (Brian) Biles, Alexis Hayden, Mark (Jen) Hayden, Brooke (Tim) Paneitz, Bret (Chantal) Hayden, Jake Castelli, Justine Castelli and Joselynn Castelli; eleven Great grandchildren; one sister, Dort Jobst of Pontiac, IL; one brother Ken Schulz of Pontiac; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Jeanne; two, sisters, Peg and Louise; four brothers, Jim, Marshall, Don and Butch.
Memorial services will be held 3:00 p.m., Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL with Pastor Del Keilman officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Somonauk, IL. Memorials may be directed to the charity of one’s choice.
