Jerry F. Long, 45, of Harding passed away Sunday, May 13, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family after a courageous bout with cancer. He was born November 26, 1966 in LaGrange, IL the son of Louis and Karen (Vlcek) Long. He married Ellen Abens on January 15, 1993 in Ottawa. Jerry enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, camping and sports with his sons where he served as a coach. He especially enjoyed time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen of Harding; two sons, Jesse Long of Harding and Justin Long of Harding; mother and stepfather, Karen (Tony) Fricano of Yorkville; one brother, Scott Long of Harding; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father Louis and two infant babies, Rose and Jonathan.
Private graveside services will be held. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at Burkhart-Eighner Funeral Home in Sandwich. Memorial may be directed to a charity of ones choice.
