Jerry W. Disbennett, 69, of Earlville passed away February 2, 2024. He was born May 31, 1954 in Columbus, OH, the son of Charles Dean and Virginia Jean (Smith) Disbennett. He married Barbara J. Modaff on June 23, 1984 in Houston, TX. Jerry was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Earlville where he served as a deacon for a time. As a kid, he loved to sail and be on the water, he continued to kayak in his adulthood. Always the handyman, Jerry was inventive, constantly creating new inventions, and enjoyed helping people in his community with odd jobs. Jerry’s greatest love of all was his family.
He is survived by his children, David (Crystal) Disbennett, Janel Patterson, Shayne (Cindy) Perdue, Benjamin (Kim) Tunk; his sisters, Susan Janowski and Denise Getchell; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Barbara.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at United Presbyterian Church in Earlville. A Memorial Service will follow at 12:00 noon at the church in Earlville, with Pastor Del Keilman officiating. Burial will be at a later date at St. Theresa Catholic Cemetery in Earlville, IL.
