Jeffery Scott Pruski

Jeffery (Jeff) Scott Pruski, 51, of Carterville, IL (formerly of Sandwich, IL), passed away on April 9, 2026 at his home. He was born on April 1, 1975 in Sandwich, IL, the son of Michael and Carol (Rogers) Pruski.

Jeff had a 26 year career in Public Works beginning in Sandwich and ended his career as Public Works Director in DuQuoin, IL. He was deeply committed to serving his community and continuously learning about his profession. This passion, particularly his expertise in microbiology, served him exceptionally well in wastewater management.

For 19 years, Jeff proudly served the Sandwich Fire Department, continuing a tradition started by his father and brother. Nothing brought him more joy than being a source of comfort and help to his community during difficult times.

Jeff was a devoted father who enthusiastically supported his children’s passions through love and encouragement. He enjoyed sharing his own interests with them, creating lasting family memories.

Jeff had various interests including NASCAR, learning, fishing, Chicago sports and reading. Music was a central part of Jeff's life, especially the songs of Pearl Jam. For Jeff, music was more than just something to listen to; it was a language he used to express his love for his family through his favorite lyrics.

Jeff is survived by twin daughters, Ashley Pruski of Sandwich; Nicole Pruski of Oro Valley, Arizona; son Ryan Pruski of Sandwich; mother Carol Pruski of Sandwich; twin brother Jeremy (Heather) Pruski of Sandwich; and the mother of his children, Christy Pruski, of Sandwich. Jeff is also survived by his sister-in-law Kristy Pruski, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephew; Baleigh, Bridgett, Connor and Ava Pruski; Jenna (Kaitlin) Schmitt, Ainsley Pruski; and great-nephew Jason Pruski.

He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Pruski; older brother Jason (Jake) Pruski; paternal grandparents Michael Pruski, Adelaide (Batterham) Pruski; Earl Rogers, Vivian (O’Neill) Rogers.

Funeral services will be held at Turner-Eighner funeral home in Somonauk, IL on Friday, April 17, 2026 from 5 -7 pm with a service immediately following. Pastor Derek Rogers, Jeff's cousin, will preside.
