Jeanne M. McNish, 96, of Sandwich, IL passed away Sunday, December 17, 2023 a couple hours before her 97th birthday, surrounded by her loving family, at The Pavilion on Main in Sandwich, IL. She was born December 18, 1926 in Aurora, IL the daughter of John and Florence (Brigham) Mitchell. She married James McNish on September 30, 1950 in Elburn, IL. Jeanne looked forward to her bus trips with her friends thru the Sandwich Park District. and enjoyed lunches and parties with her many friends at Fox Valley Older Adults Services in Sandwich, IL. Her biggest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids.
She is survived by one daughter, Kimberly (Bernie) Frieders of Sandwich, IL; two grandsons, Chad (Tara) Frieders of Sandwich and Scott (Janine) Frieders of Somonauk; two great grandsons, Payton Michael Frieders and Kellen Matthew Frieders; three great granddaughters, Bailey Marie Frieders, Lexie Paige Frieders, and Sadie Grace Frieders. She is also survived by a special niece, Jan Rippinger of North Aurora.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James who passed on April 9, 2008, and three sisters.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at the Pavilion on Main. A very special thank you goes out to her angel neighbors, Joanne and Maria.
Private Graveside Services will be held at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery in Aurora, IL, with Rev. Tom Bourke officiating. Memorials may be made directly to the Fox Valley Older Adults or The Open Door in Sandwich, IL.
