Jean Ross Loe, 94, of Plano, Illinois passed away Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Brookdale Assisted Living Center in Olympia Fields, IL. She was born October 18, 1923 in Chicago, IL the third daughter of William and Edith Kirschstein Ross. Jean was a long-distance telephone operator in 1942. She married Melvin E. Loe on May 8, 1943 at Judson Baptist Church in Oak Park, IL, to that union four daughters were born. She was a member of Plano United Methodist Church where she served on many committees and was a member of the choir for 32 years. She volunteered at the P.H. Miller School for 15 years. For a short time she served as a messenger at Sandwich Hospital, and was an Election Judge for over 50 years. Her first love was always her family and she loved being a stay at home mom.

She was survived by four daughters, Patricia Ross Martin, of Irvine, CA; Linda Dave Cook, of Prescott, AZ; Nancy George Libby of San Luis Obispo, CA; and Beth Edward Kawczynski of Orland Park, IL: nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and one on the way; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Mel, in January 2008; her parents; sister, Jessie Tyler and a sister in infancy.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Plano United Methodist Church 219 N. Hale St. Plano, IL with Rev. Christina Vosteen officiating. Burial will follow at Little Rock Township Cemetery in Plano. Visitation will be held 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 15, 2917 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home 3952 Turner Ave. Plano, IL and at the church on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Plano United Methodist Church or Open Door Rehabilitation Center in Sandwich, IL.
