Jean L. Goldman, 85, of Somonauk, Illinois passed away, Thursday, June 7, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 13, 1927 in Aurora, IL the daughter of John and Pearl Castner. She married Dale Goldman 66 years ago in Bloomington, IL. She was a member of Somonauk Junior Women’s Club. Jean enjoyed reading, cooking, gardening, bird watching, but especially she loved being a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She had a special love for her dog Honey.
She is survived by her husband, Dale, one daughter Susan (Frank) Slas of Somonauk, IL; three sons, Cary (Trudie) Goldman of Plano, IL, Randy (Ursula) Goldman of Serena, IL and Rick (Karen) Goldman of Clermont, FL; nine grandchildren, Natalie, Christopher, Marissa, Jennifer, Cassandra, Elizabeth, Erik, Skyler and Megan; five great grandchildren; one brother, James (B.J.) Castner of Batavia, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Kay and Lorraine, and one brother, Jack.
Private graveside services will be held at Northville Cemetery rural Sheridan, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL. Memorials may be directed to the Charity of one’s choice.
