Jean Louise Fanning, 87, of Earlville, IL formerly of Sandwich, passed away Saturday, August 5, 2017 in Sandwich Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Sandwich, IL. She was born July 3, 1930 in Sandwich, IL the daughter of Ingval “Swede” and Clara Miller Thorson. She married Robert James Fanning on July 21, 1951 in Wichita Falls, Texas. She was a former member of Federated Church in Sandwich and graduated from Sandwich High School class of 1948. Jean and Bob retired in 1990 and moved to DeFuniak Springs, FL and returned to Illinois in 1999.
She is survived by three children, Michael Ruby Fanning of Columbia, TN, James Gail Fanning of Sheridan, IL and Janice David Rohrer of Sheridan, IL; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert and one daughter, Roberta Bloyd.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL with Pastor Wayne Derber officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery rural Somonauk, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 8, 2017 in the funeral home until the time of services at noon.
