Jason Salisbury, 41, of Chicago, formerly of Sandwich, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2017 at the University of Chicago Hospital, after complications from a recent stroke. He was born January 10, 1976 in Rockford, IL, the son of Roy and Christine Hood Wahlgren. Jason graduated from Sandwich High School in 1995. He owned and operated Yard Connection out of Sandwich, he mowed all the cemeteries and schools in the area for many years. Jason played soft ball with the CrossRoads and football in high school. Jason loved sports and was on a bowling league for many years. He worked at the Sandwich Fair, being one of the top ticket sellers for many years until his brother started working with him. One of the proudest moments of Jason’s life was when his son was born.
He is survived by his parents, Roy and Christine of Sandwich, IL; one son, Andrew of Leland, IL; his grandfather, Orville Shock of Rockford, IL; two brothers, Jimmy Laura Salisbury of Byron, IL and Ross Wahlgren of Sandwich, IL; one sister, Ashley Jacob Wahlgren Las Vegas, NV; his niece and nephew, Morgan and Cole Salisbury; the mother of his son, Diane Salisbury; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Russell and Allene Wahlgren and Bernie and Carol Hood, Delores Shock.
Memorial Service will be private. Cremation Rites were accorded to Burkhart-Eighner Funeral Home in Sandwich, IL.
