Jarvis L. Knight

Jarvis L. Knight, 92, of Huntley, formerly of Somonauk, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017 at JourneyCare in Barrington, IL. He was born November 11, 1924 in Waterman, IL, the son of Dewey and Melva Sebby Knight. He married Emma Louise Jacobson on August 19, 1944 in Leland, IL. Jarvis was a member of the Leland American Legion for 70 years. He was also a member of the Leland Masonic Hall. Jarvis farmed, managed the Sandwich Airport, and flew pipeline patrol. He taught numerous people to fly. Jarvis managed and maintained a fleet of antique airplanes for the Palumbo family. He touched many lives through his years. Jarvis was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by one son, Charles Nancy Knight of The Village of Lakewood, IL; five grandchildren, Brian Knight of Diamondhead, MS, Amy Brian Francis of Crystal Lake, IL, Captain Joseph Knight of Ft. Campbell, KY, Thomas Elizabeth Knight of Chicago, IL, and Kathryn Andrew Hamilton of Lake Zurich, IL; six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Emma, one son, Dennis and one daughter-in-law, Linda Knight.
Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk. Private burial will take place at Leland Cemetery in Leland, IL. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the funeral home in Somonauk.
