Janice C. Stamper, 64, of Sandwich, IL passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, Saturday, February 3, 2007 at her home. She was born August 26, 1942 in Sandwich, IL, the daughter of Harold and Ruth (Sebby) Voga. She was part of the Class of 1960 from Sandwich High School. She married Jack Connelly in June of 1960, and they had four children. She was later married to Glen Stamper in January of 1974.
She spent 35 years in the horticulture field, 26 years of that was spent at E.L. Fasel and Son's in Big Rock and most recently at Sandwich Country Green House. She was an avid gardener and reader and enjoyed collecting ornamental chickens.
She is survived by five children: Kyle (Kris) Connelly of Fairport, NY, and their children: Brandon and Megan; Julie Soave of Coal City, IL and her children: James Blake Martin, Nico and Angelo Soave; Jill (Jay) Richardson of Yorkville, IL and their children: Jordan, Jaden, Jenna, Juleah, and Jinnaea; Kelly (John) Britt of Yorkville, IL and their children: Kourtney and Kody Brown; Tim (Kathy) Stamper of Danvers, MA and their son, Tyler; three sisters, Marlene (Ruben) Allen of Sandwich, IL, Marilyn Olson of Oswego, IL, and Jean (Tom) Hohman of Sandwich, IL; one brother, Russell (Barb) Voga of Shabbona, IL; one aunt, Margaret Voga of Ottawa, IL and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Funeral Services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on February 5, 2007 at Burkhart-Eighner Funeral Home in Sandwich with Pastor Scott Poling officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services at 5:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family.
