Janet May Christenson, 84, of Plano, IL passed away Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Johnston R. Bowman Health Center in Chicago, IL, surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 27, 1932 in Pierson, IA, the daughter of Earl August and Minnie Vina Harris. She married Loren Melvin Christenson on July 27, 1957 in Angela, IN. Janet was a member of Plano United Methodist Church and Plano American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed Facebook, reading, and watching the Cubs, but her greatest love of all was her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Loren of Plano, IL; two daughters, Lorna Anderson of Yorkville, IL and Lisa Grzanich of Sandwich, IL; one son, Lynn Michael Brandy Christenson of Sugar Grove, IL; seven grandchildren, Lane Rachel Sibley, Morgan Taylor Loux, Mitch Christenson, Chase Brittnie Bowers Christenson, Beau Grzanich, Samantha Grzanich, and Zach Amber Wilderspin; three great grandchildren; one brother, Michael Ranne of Colorado Springs, CO.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, James Harris.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 22, 2017 at Plano United Methodist Church in Plano, IL with Pastor Stevan Saunders officiating. Burial will follow at Little Rock Township Cemetery in Plano. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 22, 2017 at United Methodist Church in Plano.
