James E. Lyvers, 87, of Sheridan, IL passed away Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Aperion Care in Amboy. He was born January 16, 1928 in Wataga, IL, the son of George and Mary Clark Lyvers. He married Marion L. Clavey on April 28, 1950 in Waukegan, IL. James was member of Living Heritage Lutheran Church in Plano and he was a proud Veteran of the US Army. He enjoyed carpentry, home improvements and bird watching but he enjoyed his family most of all.
He is survived by one daughter, Patricia Steven Waecker of Mokena, IL; one son, James Kathleen Lyvers of Polk City, FL; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two brothers, Charles A. Lyvers of Bushnell, FL and Joseph Dale Lyvers of Inverness, FL; one sister, Shirley Ann Ed Moore of Charlotte, NC.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and two brothers.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2015 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Plano with Pastor James Barbey officiating. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Heights. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2015 at the funeral home in Plano. Memorials may be directed to Living Heritage Lutheran Church.
