James E. Kirby

James E. Kirby, 93 of Earlville, IL passed away Monday, April 18, 2011 at Illinois Veterans' Home in LaSalle, IL. He was born September 5, 1917 in Wedron, IL the son of Ova E. and Amanda (Clouse) Kirby. He married Helen LaRue in 1948 in Tiwana Mexico, she passed away in 1975 and later in 1985 he married Mabel Limber.

James was a Veteran of the U S Navy, serving during WWII in Korea and Vietnam. Following his discharge, he moved back to San Diego, CA to continue operating his pet store with his wife, Helen. They moved back to Illinois in the early 70's and opened a Floral Shop in Earlville which he operated until he retired in 1975. James was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Earlville, the Earlville American Legion where he formerly served as a Chaplain and a former member of the VFW in California.

He is survived by his close cousins and caregivers, Ken and Alma Haas of Earlville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, both wives, and one brother, Robert Kirby.
