Jacqueline A. “Jacie” Coulter, 85, of Sandwich, formally of Batavia, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at Hillside Healthcare in Yorkville, IL. She was born October 8, 1928 in Alliance, NE. She was the first daughter of Lyle F. and Erma LaRue (Neff) Kirk. She had one sister Jeraldine Chmedling 1932-2013. Jacie graduated in June of 1946 from Scottsbluff High School where she played trombone. She attended beautician and barber school in Greely, CO. Jacie worked with her father in his shop on East Overland in Scottsbluff. She married Philip R. Coulter in June of 1950 in Scottsbluff, NE. There she had her first two children, Jorja and Jana. In 1955 she moved to Chicago where she had two sons, Kirk and Cory. She worked in beauty shops near 63rd and Kedzie. In 1963 she moved to Batavia where she had daughter Jodeen and son Kenneth. Jacie worked for the Batavia Herald, WGSB Radio Station and two chiropractors. She bowled for many years. Jacie enjoyed spending the winters in South Texas and traveling the USA in a motorhome in the summers.
She is survived by her husband, her children, two granddaughters, two grandsons, and one great granddaughter.
