Jack Duane Kee, 66, of Yorkville, passed away in his home on Sunday, June 30, 2019, surrounded by his family, after battling cancer for the third time. He was born in Madison, Wisconsin on January 14th, 1953 to Jack and BettyLea (Anderson) Kee.
He spent most of his childhood in Saint Paul, Minnesota with his parents and three younger siblings. He graduated from the University Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biochemistry. While earning his MBA from the University of New Mexico, he gave his life to Christ and continued to grow in his knowledge of God through the ministry of The Navigators, a Bible-based college ministry. Jack met his wife Nanci (Prentiss) Kee in Lexington, MA where they were married on July 24th, 1982. Jack felt a calling to pastoral ministry and attained his Masters of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in 1990. Jack worked for over 25 years for a financial technology company, Investortools, and was the Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. He traveled over a million air miles throughout his career. He also co-founded his own company, UpperRoom Technology, where he served as President. Outside of his career, Jack and his wife Nanci were one of the founding families of a church outside of Chicago that started in 1998. It is a church that continues to grow and expand its ministry today. Jack had a love for travel and exploring new places. He blessed many through his generosity, whether through travel experiences or financial support. He lived with his family in Halstenbek, Germany for three years. Jack had an enjoyment of fine food and culinary experiences. From a young age, Jack developed a love for downhill skilling. One of his favorite places to go was Steamboat, Colorado where he would ski with family and friends. One of Jack’s biggest priorities was being a father to his four children. He strived to teach his children about the Bible and having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, which he modeled throughout his own life.
