Iva M. Birch, 93, of Yorkville formerly of rural Hinckley, IL passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2015 in Hillside Rehabilitation and Care Center in Yorkville, IL. She was born December 23, 1921 in Akron, Ohio the daughter of John and Eva Hollrich Lallemang. She married John Birch on August 13, 1945 in Hinckley, IL. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Hinckley. Iva served in the United States Navy during WWII. She enjoyed photography, traveling, and being social with her many friends. Her family was her greatest love.
She is survived by one daughter Marjorie Dwayne Lorenz of Concord, NC; three sons, John Birch of DeKalb, IL, Jim Jean Birch of Yorkville, IL, and William Rachelle Birch of Traverse City, MI; five grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, one son Terry Birch, two sisters, Helen Benson and Jeanette Hagen, and one brother, Edward Lallemang.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Plano, IL until the time of services. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the funeral home in Plano, IL, with Rev. Charlene Hinckley officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery Sandwich, IL. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of one's choice.
