Irene M. Hill, 90, of Plano, IL passed away, Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 22, 1924 in Sandwich, IL the daughter of Elmer and Esther (Aska) Bergeson. She married Joseph “Harley” Hill on October 29, 1947. She was a member of First Lutheran Church of Plano, Plano American Legion Auxiliary Post #395 for over 60 years. Irene enjoyed crafting, baking and playing cards.
She is survived by one daughter, Jackie (Phil) Purdue , and one son Ronald (Carol) Hill, both of Plano, IL; five grandchildren, Rod (Laura) Hill, Tim (Amy) Simmons, Bart (Tara) Hill, Kelly (Ed) Nykaza and Dan (Megan) Purdue; twelve great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Lorene “Reenie” Barnes and Bobbie Dettman; one brother-in-law, Floyd “Dutch” Hill, several nieces and nephews, all of her friends at Countryside Village Apartments.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother Elmer Bergeson Jr., one sister, Aletta Pollack and one granddaughter Dawn Simmons
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, May 23, 2015 at First Lutheran Church of Plano, with Rev. Bruce Booher officiating. Burial will follow in Little Rock Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2015 in the church until the service at 12:00 noon. Memorials may be directed VNA Hospice or First Lutheran Church of Plano.
