Irene R. Dunkel, 87, of Yorkville, Illinois passed away, Sunday, April 9, 2017 in Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. She was born May 11, 1929 in Deerfield, KS the daughter of Luke and Regina Fross Schreivogel. She married Ted Dunkel on October 1, 1949 in Lakin, KS. Irene taught ceramics for several years and did numerous shows. She owned and operated Dunkel Ceramics. Irene enjoyed cooking for her family and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Charletta File of Sandwich, IL and Sharon Larry French of Yorkville, IL, two sons, Tim Janet Dunkel of Prairie Farm, WI and Tom Dunkel of Chicago, IL; seven grandsons, Craig Janet, Eric, Scott, Jeremy, Brett, Keith Emilee and Joshua; four great grandchildren, Briana, Anthony, Tyler, and Kaden; one sister Genevieve Mike McVey of Garden City, KS.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, Eugene “Sonny” Schreivogel, two sisters, Thelma Bivens and Ellie Lockhart.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Pavilion Cemetery Yorkville, IL, with Rev. Al Arellano officiating.
