Ina F. Winslow, 93, formerly of Sandwich, IL passed away Monday, January 7, 2013 at Countryside Care Center in Aurora, IL. She was born November 25, 1919 in Hayward, KS the daughter of Lyle and Metta (Brock) Merchant. She married Earl Winslow on December 2, 1945. She was a member of the United Church of Sandwich, Rebekah’s Lodge, the Hope Circle, Women of the Moose. Before retiring she worked at Western Electric in Montgomery for over thirty years.
She is survived by two daughters, Gail (David) Lambert of Aurora, IL and Velda (LeRoy) Erue of Aurora, IL; four granddaughters, Susie (Robert) Morath of Amboy, IL, Julie (Michael) Chavarria of Ottawa, IL, Sarah (Michael) Fowler of Aurora, IL and Leeann Erue of Aurora, IL; nine great grandchildren; two brothers, J.T. Merchant of KY and Harold Merchant LA; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, Sylvia Yelton, and two brothers, William and Carl Merchant.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 12, 2013 at The United Church of Sandwich, IL with Rev. Jonathan Singleton officiating. Burial of her urn will follow in Pratts Oak Lawn Cemetery rural Sandwich, IL. According to Ina’s wishes there will be no visitation. Arrangements were entrusted to Burkhart-Eighner Funeral Home in Sandwich. A special thank you to the staff of Countryside Care Center in Aurora, IL, for their excellent care and compassion, and the Guiding Light Hospice.
