Ila J. Bennett, 92, of Earlville, IL passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014 in Heritage Health in Mendota. She was born December 22, 1921 in Ramsey, IL the daughter of Hendricks and Vertie (Thompson) Casey. She married Carroll E. "Sarge" Bennett on July 29, 1946 in Mississippi. She was a member of Earlville United Methodist Church. Ila worked at Marathon Electric in Earlville and retired from Western Electric in Montgomery after many years of service.
She is survived by one sister, Uvana Hill of Sandwich, IL, and several nieces and nephews including Lee (Tom) Jerde of Ottawa, IL and Marlene Skinner of Earlville, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carroll "Sarge" and two sisters, Pauline Casey and Leah Wicks, two brothers, Burrell and Clark Casey.
Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Sandwich, IL. There will be no visitation.
